When will we learn!
I am at my wits end with all this crap!
I, like most of the people I know, are concerned with the direction the new politico's seem to be taking us here in the United States of America.
I am not a conspiracy buff nor am I a big fan of things being explained away with the ominous "THEY" statements most of the conspiracy crowd is so fond of.
I am also referring to the nature of the bills that have become law in the last 5 or so decades...
Am I the only person who has noticed we have declared "WAR"
on an undefined enemy TWICE in the last 20 years?
The first "Undefined Enemy War" is the so called war on drugs.
In the years leading to this "WAR" drug use was the lowest it has been in 30 years. UNDER NIXON! During Vietnam! while Timothy Leary was encouraging people to... "Turn on, Tune in and Drop out!"
We were told that the idea was to put a stop gap measure in place to slow the flow of illegal drugs into the U.S. from foreign sources...And yet it seemed to do just the opposite! We have spent to date 28 billion and counting as of this writing. You can add $600.00 per second to that figure.
Most Americans agree it has done very little to curb the flow of illegal drugs into the U.S.
This is clearly counter intuitive.
If we spent the same amount on treating the addicts there would be fewer users and more people clean and free from these drugs. The result of which would mean a smaller market by means of education and reduced demand.
This as a matter of public opinion is not an issue that has anything to do with one party or the other.
It is an issue that should be very easy to agree on and yet our "Elected Officials" on both sides of the aisle are unable and unwilling to come together.
They have consistently argued semantics and fought each other on this approach to reducing the demand for illegal drugs.
This can only be explained as a personal issue preventing them from voting with their constituency.
That personal issue must be GREED.
This is an issue that bears further scrutiny and "WE" need to ask "Cui Bono" or WHO BENEFITS? Meaning who is getting a contract for supplies, or uniforms, or weapons, or equipment. It means "WE" need to follow the money and look at who is lobbying against such a simple course of action!
It almost seems to me our government officials have only spent the money to stem Illegal drugs that our government is not getting a large piece of!
There are far more people addicted to Legally Manufactured Drugs than illegal.
The Second Undefined Enemy was of course the so called war on terror. Here again we are fighting an undeclared enemy in a conflict that has no end in sight and the very same group of companies are netting windfall profits while we quickly sell our great grandchildren into a debt they will still be paying, for what?
So that Applebee's can sell Baby Back Ribs to a populace that doesn't even eat pork?!
At the time of this writting the cost of the Iraq war in U.S. dollars is 692 billion and counting. I don't need to tell anyone how the American people feel about this. We can see it based on the results of the last Presidential Election. The candidate who said "we aren't pulling the troops out" lost! No great shock there. How ever the candidate who won has done very little in the way of making his plan to get our boys home very clear. This by the way while all signs point to another major conflict coming for us to jump right into so as not to interupt "business as usual".
I for one am fed up with wholesale disregard the current Administration as well as our Duly Elected Officials seem to have for "WE" the "PEOPLE" and our wants and needs.
I am at an absolute loss as to how best to put into clear and succinct words what I am currently feeling.
I am not a politically motivated person by any sense of the word.
In fact until recently I felt almost entirely out of place in any political conversation.
Not that I didn't have opinions...On the contrary I felt that "MY OPINION" wasn't solicited!
I am not here to tell anyone to vote for or against any particular issue or candidate.
I don't feel any need to.
I am officially going on record as stating that I am placing a vote of no confidence on all Issues, Proposed reforms Candidates Etc...Etc...!
For the record I am no longer able to suspend my state of disbelief and buy in to the "ILLUSION" we even have a "TWO PARTY SYSTEM"!
If every American over the age of 12 would bother to do a little digging they would see that there are a number of Multinational Corporations that contribute heavily to both sides of every campaign and election.
Many of these corporations are financial houses that have a long history some of them older than this country.
Couple this with who the biggest players in the United States Media are and who they are related to through blood and business ties. It isn't hard to see how were sold a "War" by one side of the media and sold hope by the other side all the while the puppet masters are holding the strings of both sides of the media.
If "WE" the "PEOPLE" ever hope to be in a true system of self government "WE" must make a conscious decision to replace every elected official and scrutinize the most minor detail of those who would seek office.
I mean crawl into their very lives with a microscope and audit every dime they have ever earned or spent! FOLLOW THE MONEY!!!
If these audits lead to so much as the smell of impropriety on the part of those being investigated, "WE" should do every thing within our power to convict them in the court of "PUBLIC OPINION".
It is this type of stringent vigilance that will ensure that the persons who wish to hold public office are what they present themselves to be!
If the founding fathers were here today to see that state their dreams are left in you can bet the call would be a rally cry to revolt and set these things right.
Unfortunately according to the "Patriot Act" it is illegal to even suggest the idea of doing anything in opposition to the federal government.
Funny thing the name "Patriot Act" evokes a notion of Hey we should vote for this to be patriotic!
But in order to be a patriot, or perform any heroic or patriotic act to protect your freedom is a violation of the same act?
Don't Believe me... Take the Boston Tea Party as an example...
If the opposition had been to this government today it would be Labeled an Act of Terrorism!
